She absolutely loves the. Space underneath as her own private little spot, we love that it's not super high so we aren't worried about injuries form falling out. Also love that it fits standard 10 mattress just fine.

Was able to grab it when price dropped temporarily. Very solid and great if your kids like to play fort. We have the nugget and we would build a fort in the living room but it would always til or whatnot from playing so this was perfect. Only thing is I did remove the backing for the shelf because it gets hot underneath and no air flow. So I removed the panel and have some portable small fans underneath when they play. No issues with smell and bed itself is very study. It took maybe 3 hours to put together for a solo job

Okay my son absolutely loves this bed, but be warned, it comes in A MILLION pieces. It took us about 3 hours to put together, but once it was finished we were extremely happy with it. The instructions are pretty easy to follow, there are just a lot of little pieces. It is comfortable to lay on and very sturdy. I have no worries that it will hold my son as my husband laid on the bed with him and it had no problems holding them both. It does have the fresh wood smell at first but that fades quickly. My son also loves the little playhouse area underneath. We were hesitant to spend this much on a bed but we are very happy we did.

We bought this bed for our 5 year old. The quality is amazing for the price. We have a Pottery Barn bed set for our son and this is on par with that. The assembly was easy enough, but probably a two person job to get the sides connected. My husband and I spent about 3.5 hours putting it together. You have an option to make the cubby hole on the left or right side. It easily held my adult self on top. I even stood on it and it was solid.

Does take a good couple hours to assemble, and directions aren't 100% clear but with some patience it's doable and seems sturdy and fits well. My kid is excited about his new room.

Update. The most annoying thing about this product page is that it doesn't tell you what the dimensions are of the fort under the bed if you choose the book shelf option on either side of the center ladder. I just went to measure it. It's 33" wide by 72" long by 26" high. Aka plenty of space to be a secret fort.

The only things I wish for this bed after assembling it and having it for a couple of weeks:

A. For the price, the company could've easily used a VOC free paint to keep our kids safer. Valspar has a VOC free line at Lowes or Home Depot at budget prices.
B. Again for the price, the back paneling for the bookcases annoy me. They are very thin and warped so I had to hold them with my feet to try to straighten them out as I drilled the parts together with an impact driver. Not only that, but the shade of color is completely different than the rest of the bed. Okay not a huge deal for a kid's room but still annoying.
C. I wish that the manufacturer would put the underside fort dimensions on their product photo. It's very inconvenient to have to search through customer reviews to try to find out how big it is inside of there and then have to just order it hoping your kid can move around there easily. By the way, I'm happy to report that I (5'9") can crawl in and lay down in there easily and so can my 45" 5 year old.

It took me forrrrrever to assemble this. Probably 2-3 hrs per night over 3 nights with a lot of 5 year old and household task interruptions. Now, keep in mind that I didn't have much experience with assembling furniture before this so this is probably why. I highly recommend not assembling this yourself without an impact driver. It's nice that the bed came with a screw driver but if you don't have callouses already on your hands and fingers, you will get a lot of blisters with just a screw driver in addition to the allen wrenches. Plus also, and this is really important, don't try to reinvent the wheel (wherever that strange phrase came from) with organizing the hardware into your own ziplock bags or containers. Leave the hardware where it is with the matching labels or you'll make this so much harder. You're welcome.

Our grandson said he wanted a big boy bed and we chose this one and he was SOOO happy! He never wanted to go to sleep, now he runs to his bed.
